Less than five minutes by car, Campitellu beach offers a first glimpse of the coastline: light sand, calm waters and an open horizon. The markets

Visiting the villages of Southern Corsica

In Corsica, markets are an integral part of local life. They reveal a generous, flavourful and vibrant island. Sun-ripened fruit, farm cheeses, cured meats, honeys, jams, wines and local specialities fill colourful stalls where you wander as much as you shop. Just minutes from the campsite, the Olmeto market blends local produce, crafts and local encounters — a stop with the authentic taste of the Valinco. More lively, the Propriano market sets up in the heart of town and near the port, offering a wide variety of products in a buzzing atmosphere. In a centuries-old mineral setting, the Sartène market offers a glimpse of a more interior, tradition-proud Corsica.

Hiking

Hiking in Southern Corsica

Around Vigna Maggiore, hiking becomes a natural invitation to discover a wilder, more interior side of Corsica. Coastal paths, trails through the heart of the maquis, ancient mule tracks and routes leading towards the first ridges of the Alta Rocca offer a wide variety of routes, from the most accessible to the most challenging. Within minutes, you move from the blue of the sea to the scents of the maquis, from panoramic views over the Gulf of Valinco to more secretive valleys. Walking here means taking time to immerse yourself in the landscapes, passing through villages, observing nature and truly feeling the territory.

A hiking trail starts directly at the campsite and leads all the way up to the village of Olmeto, with a panoramic view over the Gulf throughout. The campsite is also located close to the Mare a Mare and Mare e Monti trails.

Activities near Propriano

The region also reveals itself through gentle or more sporting activities, always connected to nature and the local territory. On the beaches or through the maquis, horse riding offers a different perspective on the landscapes. At the animal's pace, you cross open spaces, follow the coastline, venture down paths — a truly immersive experience. The Valinco and its surroundings are home to several wine estates. Visits allow you to discover Corsican grape varieties, local know-how and a more gourmet, more intimate side of the territory. On the calm waters of the gulf, paddleboarding is an invitation to glide along the coastline, past rocks, over clear seabeds and into small coves. A gentle, accessible activity and an ideal way to explore the coast differently.
